Report issues with cars and let us deal with the rest.
It will work like this:
- Citizens - report issues in a few seconds on your phone done
- Local councillors - review and validate submissions working on it
- Local authority or Local police - issue warnings or fines up next
- Together - use trees, benches and planters, to improve the area later
Should I use this?
Absolutely!
The software is not finished, but we need submissions to build the system.
For now we validate reports and automatically post them to @streetportal_uk for publicity.
Why make this?
Pedestrians have to deal with dangerous parking all the time.
But enforcement is not straightforward. Sometimes it's a police issue, sometimes council. And sometimes it's just not a problem.
If you try to report problems manually, it can be frustratingly hard:
- Learn the entire highway code
- Figure out who to deal with
- Play email ping-pong, or go on hold for a few hours
- Give up
We're making tools that categorise and submit parking issues simply and directs them to the correct person.
Does it work?
Partially! The first step is to put pressure on the local council and police to accept our reports.
